Plan your summer activities now

It's not too early to make plans for the summer months.  Even if your plans include a "stay-cation" get it on the calendar.  Here's how we do it in our house.

1)  Create blank calendars for the summer months.  This can be done using Publisher or a calendar program.  Or copying a calendar.

2)  Enter in known commitments:  church camp dates, summer programs, special events (weddings, birthdays).

3) Block out days you want to set aside for special family times (a picnic, day trip, weekend camping or trip to the mountains).

4) Start planning.

If you've got children in your life, these times are for more than fun.  They are investments in family unity, a sense of identity, and will create memories that will stick with children all their lives.  Wednesday I'll share some resources we use to plan our family times.

Grace & Peace,

Glynnis

  1. I actually started a summer calendar last year. It was wonderful. I'm a teacher and summer, up until last year, felt somewhat haphazard and unproductive. I'm looking forward to your Wednesday post for ideas.
