Five easy & affordable gift ideas

What to give when your time and finances are limited, but you want it to be personal?  Here are some easy gifts I've discovered that can be personalized to the recipient's personality.

Subscription to a magazine.   A quick stop at Barnes and Noble will give you hundreds of options.  Be creative and pick one that fits the likes and personality of your recipient.  Buy the magazine and include a note.   Proverbs 31 Ministries has a beautiful magazine to encourage your favorite woman throughout the year.  $15.00.

T-shirt from Signals.   This is one of my favorite online stores.  It's quirky and fun.  You'll find t-shirts with sayings like:   I'm the Grammarian about whom your mother warned you.   Most under $20.

Personalized address labels.   For a unique gift, order some personalized address labels.  I use Colorful Image.  I've also ordered personalized mouse pads and notepads as well.  Each under $10.

Gift card for a pie.  Include some cute pie plates or pie cutter.  This is a fun gift to receive because the you get to pick out your favorite flavor ... and share it with others.  Under $10 for pie.

Photo calendar.  Every year my sister and I made a photo calendar for our father when he was alive.  Each month featured a different grandchild or daughter, and some months had all of us.  We also chose pictures from the last year that reflected the month.  So April (or March) had a picture from last year's Easter celebration.  Walgreen's has a special through Friday for 25% off, making this $15.00.

Hope this helps ease your shopping this year!

Grace & Peace,
Glynnis

  1. Great ideas! I just sat down to browse for my husband, and your ideas are a great place to start! Also - we do the photo calendars. That's all my Mom wants from us for Christmas. :-)
