Some pre-Thanksgiving tips

It's the day before Thanksgiving, and I'm already imaging the wonder of the day.  I love all of my women-folk gathering in the kitchen!   I am truly blessed  to have such wonderul women in my family.  We all love Jesus and esteem each other above ourselves.  It's one of the things I'm thankful for.

I'm hosting the dinner this year, and I'll spend some time today getting ready so tomorrow will run smoothly. Here are some simple tips you can add to your routine today:

  • Set the table.
  • Make placecards.  Kids can help.  I created some using clip art and Word and reuse them each year.
  • Make a schedule for Thursday.   Start with dinner time and work backwards.  Take into account limited oven space.
  • Prepare dessert, and any other idea that can be refrigerated or re-heated tomorrow.
  • Make sure the turkey is thawed.  If not submerge in water.  Bathtubs work.
  • Chop vegetables for stuffing/dressing.  Store in airtight containers in the fridge.
  • Chill beverages.
  • Empty ice maker into zip lock bags so you have extra.
  • Set up a coffee/beverage center, with mugs, spoons, tea bags, hot chocolate, sugar bowl and cream pitcher ready for half-half.
Those are a few of the things I'll be doing today.  What are you doing today to get ready for tomorrow?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace & Peace,

Glynnis
